OPPORTUNITY – Generational poverty has affected Senate District 14 for decades, and the COVID-19 pandemic heightened existing problems with food insecurity, housing, and employment. Finding available resources became increasingly tricky for constituents because of fluctuating foodbank stock levels and price gouging schemes for PPE. 

RESULT –  In coordination with district staff, a newsletter was developed to provide a clear path to resources and assistance for rent relief, food distribution, and mental health services. Due to successful engagement, COVID-19 newsletters became a regular part of regular district communications.
