OPPORTUNITY -The County Behavioral Health Directors identified the need to better educate policy staff and elected officials on pivotal issues. This lack of education hindered their ability to have meaningful conversations with decision-makers and press. This opportunity was a moment to level set a basic knowledge of Substance Use and Mental Health.
RESULT- By breaking down the concept of behavioral health in a understandable way it allowed the Association to create a shared definitions and concepts. These factsheets and infographics essentially gave a new narrative to the fundamental opinions within the wider Capitol community. Measured successes were won early with support from community partners, and requests for printed copies, permission to use materials for lobby days and community events.
