OPPORTUNITY –A legislative scorecard is tool advocacy groups to rank sitting legislators or candidates for legislative office on their voting record. Considering the leading issues of homelessness, mental health, and substance use were front and center, this was a good time to educate voters on the issues and how elected officials were supporting behavioral health. Building on the successes of the 2016 – 2017 scorecard, the Association wanted to find ways to discuss upcoming initiatives and showcase their recent accomplishments.

RESULT –While keeping an eye on the previous report structure and readability, we aimed to create a more robust grading system and list out the effectiveness of staff.   Including two new sections on new initiatives and the previous year, successes proved to be a great way to help socialize new policies and list out notable accomplishments, ideas, and a way to plan for the future.
